PASADENA EVICTION MORATORIUM UP FOR DISCUSSION

On Monday, April 4, 2022, the Pasadena City Council agenda will have the second supplemental emergency order up for discussion, and this emergency order only deals with the eviction moratorium, nothing else. The current emergency order for eviction moratoriums has no end date! The proposed action items for the Pasadena City Council will be to continue or terminate the eviction moratorium or to put an end date on the moratorium in Pasadena. Rental Property owners need to request an immediate termination!

Pasadena Housing Providers - Let Your Voice Be Heard!

The councilmembers and Mayor need to hear from us. We have a little over two weeks and a lot of work to do. Property owners can help by writing letters to the Mayor and Council Members and preparing talking points for the Pasadena City Council meeting scheduled on April 4, 2022. We need to reach out with phone calls and emails to every council member to tell them our stories and why we need to cancel this eviction moratorium immediately. Please do so in one or more of the following ways:

 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

The city will accept public comment in the following manner:

  1. Submit A Speaker Card: During the meeting, members of the public may provide live public comment by submitting a speaker card prior to the start of public comment on that item, at the following webpage: www.cityofpasadena.net/city-clerk/public-comment Public comments are limited to 3 minutes each, and the Mayor and City Council may limit this time if reasonable under the circumstances.

Speaker Card Help Line: If a public comment speaker needs assistance in completing a speaker card, please call the City Clerk’s Office at: (626) 744-4124. Help line will open 30 minutes prior to the posted start time of the meeting.

  1.  Join the Meeting: After submitting a public speaker card, join the virtual meeting after the published start time with a computer, other electronic device, or by telephone. The same name or telephone number on the Speaker Card should be used for the virtual meeting in order to locate and unmute the speaker. Your phone call to the City Council meeting will be recorded as part of the City Council meeting. By staying on the line and making public comment during the City Council meeting, you are agreeing to have your phone call recorded.

IF YOU CAN NOT MAKE THE MEETING – EMAIL, WRITE, OR CALL

THE CITY, THE MAYOR, AND YOUR COUNCILMEMBER!

Email the City: Members of the public may submit correspondence of any length prior to the start of the meeting, at the following email address:  correspondence@cityofpasadena.net

Correspondence will be forwarded to the City Council prior to the start of the meeting, posted online, and made part of the legislative record for the item.
